Undoubtedly, the CEE region countries are the main «reservoir» of growth for the European insurance market. However, it would be premature to consider them a real growth engine, as long as, in spite of the double digit growth rates registered even in times of crisis, the regional market, as a whole, does not underwrite more than one of the medium-size mature markets.
In other words, even if they are still too small to have a significant contribution to the turnover, the CEE markets are very attractive in terms of potential. That’s why we wanted, in this issue of Insurance PROFILE, to go beyond the national framework, trying a brief assessment of the moment in which we find ourselves, in the regional context.
